What is SplashTrash International?

SplashTrash Intl. promotes dialogue and action
around plastic in our ocean and what we can do to make a difference.
It was created by Bette Booth, a professional environmental communicator and lifelong lover of the ocean. On a Caribbean vacation in 2016, she was devastated by the amount of plastic in the ocean and on the beaches. It changed her life. She began to make art out of the trash, but it wasn't enough. In 2017, she created SplashTrash and took the show on the road to six Florida locations. The Tour inspired the creation of the International SplashTrash ArtExpos. Bette is a 5 Gyres Ambassador.
SplashTrash Art
Who knew that a $2.00 glue gun, some string and a lot of free splashtrash art supplies would lead to all of this?
Once you've created splashtrash art, your life is never the same.
Celebrating, showcasing and connecting splashtrash art and artists around the world.
Unsung heroes who are harnessing the power of their art to save our oceans.
Why SplashTrash International?
We dump 16 million pounds of plastic in the ocean every year - a dump truck every second. By 2050, there will be more pounds of plastic that pounds of fish. Already plastic is in the food we eat, water we drink and air we breath.
You can make a difference. Pledge to adopt one new action that will reduce trash in our ocean - today!
